Monthly Maintenance Charges- Which includes 24 Hour Alarm and On Site Support – Are set within the Affordable Housing criteria and the Local Housing Allowance. This charge covers the running cost of the Almshouse, including:
- Emergency call system
- Staff and administration costs
- Maintenance and general upkeep
- Cleaning and lighting of communal areas
Each resident is responsible for their domestic/utility bills, such as council tax, electricity, gas, telephone, water rates, TV licence etc.
Subject to status, Housing Benefit can be claimed by residents living in the Almshouses.
The flats are provided unfurnished. There is a communal lounge where residents can meet for fellowship, with various activities arranged by the Almshouse Manager for those who wish to attend.
As the flats are for independent living, applicants should be able to look after themselves.
All applications are assessed by the Almshouse Manager and approved by Trustees.
